You look like and angel, sing like an angel and you are such an inspiration A.Dixon At the end of her first year of studies and whilst preparing to perform her first Operatic role in Spain she had contracted a rare form of encephalitis. After months of medical care and an exhausting feat through mental and physical disability which had impaired central communicational interaction, Aliki didn’t find herself on the road to recovery until she had started articulating extracts of musicals plays and opera that her mother would sing to her.At this point in time Aliki had been taken back to a place where singing became perhaps the only remedy to a dire situation where her ambition and thirst for life had considerably diminished. As romantic as it may sound, classical music had proved for Aliki as the main healing source for her symptoms and psychological state. In April 2015 Aliki ran 42 km at the Virgin London Marathon, raising awareness for the Encephalitis Society and had been selected in the Celebrity list runners. As one of the lucky few to have recovered fully from this terrible virus , she is reaching out to support the amazing work The Encephalitis Society does.
