The Cypriot choral conductor and lyric tenor Stelios Chatziktoris was born in 1990 in Limassol, Cyprus. In September 2009 he enrolled the "Paul Hindemith" Music School in Berlin and in October 2010, he began his studies in Choral Conducting at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” in the class of Prof. Jörg-Peter Weigle from where he graduated in July 2014.

As a pianist, he was a finalist at the 13th Steinway Piano Competition 2008 in Cyprus, broadcasted live on national television. He received his pianistic training and inspiration from Zbynek Maruska, Nefen Michaelides and in master classes with Elfrun Gabriel, Detlef and Ria Kaiser.

In addition to his choral conducting, Stelios studied Singing Pedagogy at the UDK Berlin in the class of Prof. Elisabeth Werres. Since April 2014 he continues his vocal performance studies at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” with Prof. Anneliese Fried and tenor Stephan Rügamer. He works regularly with Elisabeth Norberg- Schulz. He has received further guidance and inspiration in singing master classes with Robert Dean Smith, Angelos Samartzis, Aris Christofellis, Janet Williams and Michael Trimble.

In June 2015, Stelios sang with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra within a masterclass, under the baton of Julius Kalmar. In August of the same year he performed the role of Don Basilio in Le nozze di Figaro and the role of Conte Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia in three concerts. In May 2016 he sang the part of Junker Spärlich in a production of the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” and in December 2016 he made his debut in Cyprus as a lyric tenor with operatic arias. In June 2018 he sang the role of Johannes in a world premiere of the opera A Bad Man’s Life, receiving good reviews. (… ,,he pleased the audience with his vocal and acting charm’’…).

Stelios Chatziktoris is the choirmaster of the awarded ‘Hxos Choir Berlin which he founded in April 2011 whilst he was still a choral conducting student. Further experience as a choir conductor includes his work with the Kölner Kantorei and its conductor Volker Hempfling, the award-winning and world-renowned choirs Cantemus and Pro Musica in Hungary, the ensemble EOS, the Leipzig and Hamburg Radio Choirs (MDR and NDR) and the Berlin and Vienna State Opera Choruses. Moreover, in June 2014 has was assistant to Simon Halsey in Crowd Out, a work for 1000 voices by David Lang.
